If I’m in an accident, if I’m injured in Florida, will the insurance company spy on me? I’m Steve Kramer. I’m a car accident and injury attorney in the state of Florida. The short answer to that question is yes. The insurance company may spy on you. And really, it’s a no lose proposition for the insurance company. They’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain. If they happen to spy on you and you’re claiming injuries and they catch you playing golf or lifting a bag of 50 pounds of dog food or sky diving or doing whatever, they can use that against you in court. So you’ve got to be aware of that and you’ve got to be prepared, you’ve got to be careful of what you’re doing. It also means you’ve got to be honest and forthright in everything you do as it relates to the case, or otherwise you could be shown later to be unreliable, dishonest, and we don’t want that to hurt you. So the main thing is it’s important for you to be aware that this is something that can happen and that your actions – every action you take after you’re in an accident – can impact your case down the road.
