Associate Attorney, TK LAW

Associate Attorney
Terrie Pointer is an accomplished attorney whose academic achievements, litigation experience, and commitment to client service reflect the disciplined approach she brings to every matter. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Florida State University, graduating cum laude. During her undergraduate studies, Ms. Pointer was recognized for her academic performance through repeated placement on the Dean’s List and membership in Lambda Alpha Epsilon, the criminology honor society. She also gained exposure to the legal profession while serving as a legal intern with the Law Office of Anabelle Dias, P.A., where she developed an understanding of legal research, client communication, and the responsibilities attorneys owe to the people they serve.
Following her graduation from Florida State University, Ms. Pointer attended Florida A&M University College of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude (which is awarded to students who earn a cumulative GPA above 3.5 GPA and who finish in the top 15% of their graduating class). She consistently received Dean’s List honors and earned the highest grade in her contract drafting course, an achievement that reflects her attention to detail, analytical skill, and ability to effectively work through complex legal documents.
Ms. Pointer was also involved in leadership and service throughout law school. She served as Treasurer of the Student Bar Association and Treasurer of the Black Law Students Association, positions that required accountability, organization, and collaboration with students, faculty, and administrators. She also served as Parliamentarian for the Women’s Law Caucus, helping support orderly decision making and organizational governance. These experiences strengthened the leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills that continue to inform her legal practice.
Before joining TK Law, Ms. Pointer developed civil litigation experience representing clients in complex first-party property insurance and construction defect matters. Her work required careful analysis of insurance policies, contracts, technical reports, damages, and disputed factual records. She managed cases through multiple stages of litigation, conducted depositions, prepared persuasive legal arguments, and represented clients in state court proceedings and mediations. She also gained negotiation experience, advocating firmly for favorable resolutions while remaining prepared to litigate when necessary. Her background in insurance coverage and construction-related disputes sharpened her ability to interpret contractual language, organize extensive evidence, and communicate complicated legal issues in a clear and understandable manner.
At TK Law, Ms. Pointer focuses her practice on family law, where she applies her litigation experience, drafting skills, and analytical perspective to matters that often involve significant personal, financial, and emotional concerns. She understands that family-law clients are not simply dealing with legal questions. They are making important decisions about their children, finances, property, relationships, and future.
Ms. Pointer approaches each case with preparation, professionalism, and compassion. She collaboratively works with clients to understand their priorities, explain available options, and develop practical strategies tailored to their circumstances. Whether a matter requires negotiation, advocacy, or courtroom preparation, she remains focused on protecting her clients’ interests and helping them move forward with clarity and confidence.
Her combination of academic distinction, civil litigation experience and client-centered advocacy makes Ms. Pointer a valuable member of the TK Law team and a trusted advocate for individuals and families navigating difficult legal transitions. Drawing from her own experiences with family challenges, she understands how overwhelming and emotionally demanding family-law matters can become for clients. Ms. Pointer brings a calm, steady presence to each case, helping clients feel supported, heard, and less alone throughout the process.
Ms. Pointer is committed to helping clients work through difficult emotions while remaining focused on their families, long-term goals, and the practical decisions that will shape their futures. When children are involved, she emphasizes thoughtful, child-first solutions designed to protect their stability and well-being. Hardworking, persistent, and solution-oriented, Ms. Pointer approaches every challenge with determination and continues evaluating options until she identifies the strongest available path forward for her client.
